Aegean Airlines is Greece’s flag carrier and largest airline, operating from Athens to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. As a Star Alliance member, Aegean has repeatedly won Skytrax awards for best regional airline in Europe, distinguished by its consistently high service standards and Greek culinary program.

Seat and cabin

Aegean’s business class uses a standard European short-haul model with economy seats in a 3-3 configuration where the middle seat is blocked to create additional space. Seat pitch is 38 inches and width is effectively wider with the empty middle seat. There are no lie-flat seats as Aegean operates exclusively narrowbody aircraft on routes of up to six hours. Each seat includes a personal device holder, USB port, and access to streaming entertainment. The product is typical of intra-European business class — adequate for shorter flights but not comparable to long-haul offerings.

Dining and service

Dining is where Aegean truly distinguishes itself among regional European carriers. Business class meals feature high-quality Greek cuisine with dishes like moussaka, grilled sea bass, Greek salads with feta from specific regional producers, and spanakopita. Greek wines from Santorini, Nemea, and Crete are prominently featured. Ouzo and Greek coffee complete the beverage program. Even on shorter flights, Aegean delivers a multi-course meal that showcases Greek culinary heritage. Cabin crew provide warm, engaged service that reflects genuine Greek philoxenia — love of the stranger.

Lounge experience

Aegean operates the Business Lounge at Athens International Airport, offering Greek mezze, pastries, a selection of Greek wines and spirits, and views of the Athenian landscape. The lounge features contemporary Greek design with marble accents and warm Mediterranean colours. At outstations, passengers access Star Alliance partner lounges. The Athens lounge provides an authentically Greek pre-departure experience with quality local products, and the airport itself is modern and efficient.
