Seat and cabin
The Airbus A350-900 features Air China’s newest business class with a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout, 23-inch-wide lie-flat seats, and direct aisle access at every position. Each seat includes a 17-inch touchscreen, USB and AC power outlets, and adjustable mood lighting. The Boeing 777-300ER uses a mix of configurations depending on aircraft age, with newer frames offering 1-2-1 layouts while older ones retain 2-2-2 angled-flat seats. The 787-9 provides a modern 1-2-1 staggered layout with lie-flat capability.
Dining and service
Air China serves Chinese and Western multi-course meals with options that reflect regional Chinese cuisines including Sichuan, Cantonese, and Northern Chinese dishes. Baijiu and Chinese teas are offered alongside international wines. Presentation is straightforward, with meals served on branded china. Service is efficient but can lack the personal warmth found on some competitors, though standards have improved on flagship routes to Europe and North America.
Lounge experience
Air China operates business class lounges at Beijing Capital and Daxing airports, offering hot Chinese dishes, noodle bars, and seating areas with runway views. The Beijing Capital Terminal 3 lounge is spacious with shower facilities. At overseas stations, passengers use Star Alliance partner lounges. The lounge experience is functional and adequate, with the Beijing hub lounges being the highlight of the network.
