Bamboo Airways Business Class

Bamboo Airways is a Vietnamese carrier that launched in 2019, positioning itself as a full-service alternative to Vietnam Airlines. Operating from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the airline has expanded with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners on select long-haul routes while using A321neos for domestic and regional services.

Seat and cabin

The Boeing 787-9 features business class in a 1-2-1 staggered layout with fully lie-flat seats extending to 73 inches and a 21-inch width. Each seat includes a 16-inch entertainment screen, USB and AC power, noise-cancelling headphones, and an amenity kit. The cabin design draws on Vietnamese aesthetics with bamboo-inspired textures and warm earth tones reflecting the airline’s brand. On the A321neo, business class uses a recliner seat in a 2-2 configuration suited for shorter domestic hops. The 787 product is where Bamboo Airways competes most credibly with established carriers.

Dining and service

Bamboo Airways serves Vietnamese and international cuisine, with highlights including pho, bun cha, and banh mi alongside Western multi-course options. Vietnamese coffee and jasmine tea are signature beverage offerings. Meals are presented on branded tableware with attention to authentic Vietnamese flavours. The cabin crew deliver warm and courteous Vietnamese-style service, though the overall service polish continues to mature as the airline develops its training programs and operational experience.

Lounge experience

Bamboo Airways provides lounge access at Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City airports, offering Vietnamese dishes, pho stations, and refreshments in a modern setting. The lounges are compact but well-appointed, with comfortable seating and Wi-Fi. At international outstations, passengers use contract or partner lounges. As a newer carrier, the ground experience is still developing, with the Vietnamese hub lounges offering the most consistent pre-flight experience.
