China Airlines is Taiwan’s flag carrier and a SkyTeam alliance member, operating from Taipei Taoyuan to destinations across Asia, Oceania, Europe, and North America. The airline has invested significantly in its business class product, particularly on its A350-900 fleet, which represents a major step forward in passenger experience.

Seat and cabin

The Airbus A350-900 features business class in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone layout with lie-flat seats extending to 76 inches and 22-inch width. Each seat includes an 18-inch touchscreen, noise-cancelling headphones, USB-C and AC power, and a personal storage compartment. The cabin design incorporates Taiwanese cultural motifs with plum blossom patterns and warm rosewood-inspired tones. The Boeing 777-300ER uses an older 2-2-2 layout with angled-flat seats that is markedly less competitive. The A330-300 features a staggered 1-2-1 layout with lie-flat seats.

Dining and service

China Airlines serves sophisticated Taiwanese and international cuisine, with highlights including braised beef noodle soup, Taiwanese-style pork belly, and dim sum selections. The wine list features European and New World wines curated by sommeliers. Oolong tea from Taiwan’s high-mountain plantations is a signature beverage. Meals are presented on distinctive blue-and-white china. Cabin crew are known for graceful, attentive Taiwanese-style service with particular warmth and courtesy toward passengers.

Lounge experience

China Airlines operates the Dynasty Lounge at Taipei Taoyuan Terminal 1, featuring hot Taiwanese dishes including beef noodle soup, dim sum, and congee, along with a bar area, shower facilities, and a business centre. The lounge offers a calm atmosphere with Chinese-inspired design. At outstations, passengers access SkyTeam partner lounges. The Taipei lounge is spacious and well-regarded, making it a highlight of the China Airlines ground experience.
