Garuda Indonesia is Indonesia’s flag carrier and a SkyTeam member, operating from Jakarta to destinations across Southeast Asia, East Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and Europe. The airline has won numerous Skytrax awards for its cabin crew service and is recognised for its gracious Indonesian hospitality.

Seat and cabin

The Boeing 777-300ER features business class in a 1-2-1 staggered layout with lie-flat seats extending to 74 inches and a generous 22-inch width. Each seat includes a 17-inch touchscreen, USB and AC power, and a batik-patterned amenity kit. The A330-900neo offers a similar 1-2-1 layout with updated Collins Aerospace seats. The A330-300 uses a slightly older configuration but maintains lie-flat capability. Indonesian batik motifs and warm wood tones throughout the cabin create a distinctively Southeast Asian atmosphere that sets Garuda apart from competitors.

Dining and service

Garuda Indonesia’s dining is a standout, featuring Indonesian specialties such as nasi goreng, rendang, soto ayam, and satay alongside Western multi-course options. Indonesian sambal and krupuk accompany meals as authentic condiments. The airline has a dedicated Indonesian wine and tea program, with Javanese coffee and herbal jamu drinks offered as signature beverages. Cabin crew in batik kebaya uniforms deliver service with exceptional warmth and grace, performing the traditional Indonesian greeting and maintaining attentive, anticipatory service throughout the flight.

Lounge experience

Garuda operates the Premium Lounge at Jakarta Terminal 3, offering Indonesian and international cuisine, a live cooking station with nasi goreng and bakso, barista coffee service, and shower facilities. The lounge features modern Indonesian design with batik accents. At outstations, passengers access SkyTeam partner lounges. The Jakarta lounge provides one of the more culturally immersive pre-flight experiences among Southeast Asian carriers, though the wider airport infrastructure at CGK can be challenging.
