RwandAir offers lie-flat business class on its Airbus A330 fleet, representing Rwanda's ambitious push into premium African aviation from Kigali.
2 routes available · Lie-flat seats · Lounge access included
RwandAir is Rwanda’s flag carrier, operating from Kigali International Airport with growing ambitions to become a major African hub carrier. The airline has expanded its network to include destinations across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, with modern Airbus A330 aircraft serving long-haul routes.
Seat and cabin
The Airbus A330-200 and A330-300 feature business class in a 2-2-2 layout with fully lie-flat seats extending to 73 inches and a 20-inch width. While the configuration does not provide direct aisle access from window seats, the small cabin size of 18 to 24 seats makes the environment intimate. Each seat includes a 15.4-inch touchscreen, USB and AC power, and an amenity kit. The cabin design uses Rwandan-inspired colours with muted blues and greens reflecting the country’s rolling hills and natural landscapes.
Dining and service
RwandAir serves East African and international cuisine, featuring Rwandan-inspired dishes alongside Western options. Menu items include grilled brochettes, plantain dishes, and East African-spiced proteins. Rwandan coffee — renowned globally for its quality — is a signature offering alongside international wines and East African beers. Meals are presented simply but neatly on branded tableware. Service is friendly and professional, reflecting Rwanda’s broader national emphasis on quality, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
Lounge experience
RwandAir provides lounge access at Kigali International Airport, with the Pearl Lounge offering hot dishes, snacks, beverages, and a quiet atmosphere. The lounge is compact but well-maintained, consistent with Rwanda’s reputation for orderliness. At outstations, passengers access partner or contract lounges. The ground experience is improving as Kigali prepares for its new Bugesera International Airport, which is expected to dramatically enhance the hub facilities and lounge offerings.
