SriLankan Airlines is Sri Lanka’s flag carrier and a Oneworld alliance member, operating from Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport to destinations across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. The airline provides an important link between South Asia and the global alliance network.

Seat and cabin

The Airbus A330-300 features business class in a 1-2-1 staggered layout with Thompson Vantage lie-flat seats extending to 76 inches and a 20-inch width. Every seat offers direct aisle access, a 15.4-inch touchscreen, USB and AC power, and noise-cancelling headphones. The A330-200 uses a similar layout. The cabin features a warm colour palette with Sri Lankan design accents including sapphire and cinnamon tones. While the hard product is competitive at this level, the seats are showing some wear on older frames, and a cabin refresh would help maintain competitiveness.

Dining and service

SriLankan Airlines serves Sri Lankan and international cuisine, with highlights including rice and curry, kottu roti, hoppers, and devilled prawns. Ceylon tea — arguably the finest in the world — is a signature offering served in traditional style. The wine list includes European selections alongside Sri Lankan arrack. Meals feature vibrant Sri Lankan spice combinations and fresh ingredients. Cabin crew deliver service with gentle Sri Lankan warmth and graciousness, creating a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the island’s reputation for hospitality.

Lounge experience

SriLankan operates the Serendib Lounge at Colombo Bandaranaike Airport, offering Sri Lankan rice and curry, short eats like fish cutlets and patties, and a Ceylon tea station. The lounge is functional but modest, and would benefit from refurbishment to match the airline’s onboard product. At outstations, Oneworld partner lounges provide access, with highlights including Cathay Pacific and Qantas lounges. The Colombo lounge provides an authentic Sri Lankan culinary preview before the flight.
