Xiamen Air is a Chinese carrier based in Fujian province, operating from dual hubs at Xiamen and Fuzhou. As a SkyTeam member and subsidiary of China Southern Airlines, Xiamen Air serves destinations across Asia-Pacific, North America, and Oceania with a modern all-Boeing fleet. The airline is one of China’s more internationally recognised regional carriers.

Seat and cabin

The Boeing 787-9 features business class in a 1-2-1 staggered layout with lie-flat seats extending to 74 inches and a 21-inch width. Every seat provides direct aisle access, a 15.4-inch touchscreen, USB and AC power, and noise-cancelling headphones. The 787-8 uses a similar layout. The cabin design features Xiamen Air’s signature sky blue tones with Minnan cultural accents. On narrowbody 737-800 domestic routes, business class is a recliner seat in a 2-2 configuration. The 787 product is where Xiamen Air delivers its most competitive experience.

Dining and service

Xiamen Air serves Fujian and Chinese cuisine alongside Western options, featuring regional specialties such as Hokkien-style seafood, braised pork belly, and Fujian tea eggs. Fujian oolong tea, particularly Tieguanyin from Anxi county, is the signature beverage. The wine list includes Chinese and international selections. Meals are presented on branded tableware with a focus on traditional Chinese dining aesthetics. Service is efficient and courteous, with cabin crew providing attentive care on long-haul routes.

Lounge experience

Xiamen Air operates business class lounges at Xiamen Gaoqi and Fuzhou airports, offering Fujian cuisine, noodle stations, dim sum, and traditional tea service. The lounges feature comfortable seating and a calm atmosphere. At outstations, passengers access SkyTeam partner lounges. The Fujian tea service is a distinctive touch, offering passengers a taste of the region’s famous tea culture before departure. The lounges are adequate but not as polished as those of larger Chinese carriers.
