Emirates business class means a lie-flat seat, the A380 onboard lounge and chauffeur drive on many premium tickets. With Skywards it is one of the easiest business class products to book one-way from Europe since the May 2026 change.

One-way, per person, business class. Return Saver awards cost exactly double. Skywards adds carrier charges, which are highest on departures from London. As of 24 September 2026; programmes change prices without notice.
How to book, step by step
- Search on emirates.com logged in to Skywards, tick "Classic Rewards" and look for the "Saver" fare in business. If you only see Flex Plus, try nearby dates.
- If your miles are in Amex Membership Rewards, check your country's transfer ratio first (in the UK it is 2:1 since 2026) and transfer only once you have seen Saver space.
- Book online and pay taxes and carrier charges by card. Check whether your ticket includes chauffeur drive and add it under Manage booking.
Finding award availability
- Saver business seats appear most often on Dubai–Europe flights outside school holidays and are released close to departure as well as a year ahead.
- The fifth-freedom flights New York–Milan and Newark–Athens are one of the best uses of Skywards for a transatlantic trip.
- Search tools (seats.aero, point.me) cover Emirates only partially; the emirates.com calendar is the reference.
Miles or cash?
Paying cash, a return business class ticket London → Dubai starts from €1,200 and is typically €3,500 (our benchmark, September 2026). Two one-way awards at 59,000 miles each against the typical fare work out at roughly 3.0 euro cents per mile before taxes and surcharges. If the cheapest cash fare is close to the taxes you would pay on the award, keep your miles and pay cash.
Watch out for
- Emirates charges high carrier-imposed surcharges on awards from London. Departing from continental Europe usually lowers the cash part.
- Flex Plus is often the only fare shown. Its price is almost double the Saver fare, so check if a different date opens Saver.
- Skywards miles expire after three years; use them before you lose them.

As of September 2026, London Heathrow–Dubai costs 59,000 Skywards miles one-way in business Saver (118,000 return) plus taxes and carrier charges, or 100,000 miles one-way in Flex Plus.
Can I book a one-way Emirates business award?
Yes. Since 20 May 2026 Emirates sells one-way business Saver awards at half the return price. Before that, one-way business awards were only available at the Flex Plus price.
Why can I only see Flex Plus business awards?
Saver seats are limited per flight. When they are gone, emirates.com shows only Flex Plus. Search nearby dates or set an award alert; we check this for you in our award booking service.
Can I transfer Amex points to Emirates Skywards?
In several countries, yes. In the UK the ratio became 2:1 in 2026, which makes Skywards expensive via Amex. Check the ratio in your Amex app before transferring.
